The Tokyo Shayukai (Tokyo Photography Circle) was founded in March 1901 as an offshoot to the famous Kenyusha, Japan's first modern literary association. The members were amateurs with artistic and literary leanings, headed by the novelist Ozaki Koyo (1868-1903). The present is a catalogue of prize-winning works exhibited at their first exhibition in May 1903 in Ueno together with a few plates showing the venue. Very rare. No copy in OCLC. (Titus Boeder)
