Kageyama (1907-1981) was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Pref. He moved to Tokyo in 1925 and attended Tokyo Koto Kogei Gakko's photo department. He started working for Asahi Shimbun newspapers in 1930 and eventually became a war correspondent. The present is his photographic record of the extraordinary progress of Japanese troops through the Malay peninsula towards the capture of Singapore. He continued to publish historical photo-books after the war. No copies in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4.2007)
