- 2600 - Japan Celebrates Twenty-Six Centuries of Imperial Rule
Photography magazine, first and only edition. Numerous photographic plates. English text. Large folio. Original decorated wrappers.
- Published in: Tokyo-to
In November 1940 large celebrations were held in Tokyo commemorating the purported 2600th anniversary of the accession of the first emperor (Jimmu Tenno) of Japan. The Japan Photojournalist Association (Nippon Hodo Shashinka Kyokai) covered the event. The present publication appears to be the only one issued by the Japan Photo Library, an organization affiliated to the Kokusai Bunka Shinkokai. Clearly intended as a piece of propaganda the magazine covers many aspects of the civil and military side of Japan. Designed by Hara Hiromu. Only one copy in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/2007)
