- Curator's comments
- Fukuhara Shinzo is the editor of this book and although he contributed a number of images himself, most of the work is by other photographers (incl. Kawai Hachiemon, Sawabe Shiro, & Minami Minoru). The beautiful plains of Musashino (modern Saitama pref.) have been a popular subject of poetry since the Heian period (794-1185), and in Japanese art renditions of pampas grass with bush clover inevitably refer to Musashino. Fukuhara's selection captures the gentle and lyrical atmosphere of waka poetry. Only one copy in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/2007)
