Vase with yellow glaze
This vase is marked with a six-character underglaze blue reign mark of the Kangxi period on the base. It was however made in the late Qing dynasty, probably for collectors of antique Chinese porcelain. Many upright shapes were made, copying earlier wares, for display in a range of bright colours. The underglaze blue apocryphal Kangxi reign mark on the base is a mark of quality.
