Gourd-shaped water dropper
Both Chinese emperors and scholars ordered some porcelain as amusing trompe l’oeil artefacts to display. This lobed water dropper is in the form of a gourd. It is covered with an iron-red overglaze, with a golden stalk and green calyx.
