Blue-and-white covered jar
This blue-and-white jar is decorated with a lotus scroll around the body. There is a six-character Xuande reign mark in underglaze blue in a double ring on the base. An extraordinary number of Jiangxi men were employed within the central government during the early to mid-fifteenth century, which may have contributed to maintaining Jingdezhen, located in north-eastern Jiangxi, as the main source of court ceramics
