Description
Small porcelain bowl with straight sides. Wide band of pierced openwork around sides, with four inset underglaze blue roundels containing a flying phoenix. At the top of the openwork band are four small roundels with pierced characters. Band of scrolling flowers below rim and above foot. Inscription on unglazed base. A pair with B621.

Room 95 label text: PDF B622 Bowl with pierced openwork This small porcelain bowl has four roundels framing flying phoenix with openwork and characters. The characters read 福壽康寧 (fu shou kang ning 'good fortune and health be with you'). The base carries a Wanli reign mark in underglaze blue.
