Doucai cup with grapevines, bamboo and melon
Qing鬥彩 (doucai ‘joined colours’) uses underglaze blue painting for outlines and overglaze enamels for infilled colour. These enamels are translucent like watercolours. This cup shows fruiting vines and melons with bamboo. There is a six-character Chenghua mark in a double rectangle in underglaze blue on the base.
