Dish with fruiting peach branches
Nearly three hundred years of the Ming dynasty ended with the invasion of the Forbidden City by the Manchu army in AD1644. Qing dynasty imperial porcelains from Jingdezhen are characterised by a new fineness and a greater regularity of form. Qing emperors maintained an interest in past Chinese styles as evidenced by this blue-and-yellow dish with fruiting peach branches in early fifteenth century mode.
