There is a roundel enclosing crane among clouds in underglaze blue decoration on a red enamel ground in the centre of the interior, with four medallions, each enclosing two cranes and clouds, on the exterior. There is a mark in underglaze blue on the base.

Bowl with blue cranes and a red ground
This bowl is decorated with roundels of flying cranes in underglaze blue and the base carries a six-character underglaze blue Jiajing mark. This is surrounded by a red ground which may once have been gilded.
