There are two incised dragons chasing a flaming pearl among clouds in Sancai style with on-biscuit purple, green, brown and yellow enamel on the interior, and four groups of grapevines on the exterior. There is a mark in dark brown on a yellow ground on the base.

Dish with dragons chasing flaming pearls
In contrast to Europe, in China dragons are traditionally considered to be auspicious. They are regarded as the controllers of the water supply and ultimately came to symbolise imperial authority. The base has a six-character Kangxi reign mark.
