Dish with dragons
Ming emperors appear to have favoured bright, colourful, schemes for their buildings, costumes and furnishings. This dish with dragons has colours applied directly to the biscuit-fired porcelain body. This lends the enamels a darker hue than those first coated with a layer of glaze and fired before the enamels were added and the piece was fired again.
