Porcelain bowl with rounded sides and slightly everted lip. The bowl has a fine white body. There is a peony and a rose in 'Gu Yue' style, 'famille rose' palette enamel on the interior, and sprays of convolvulus in a diaper ground of blue enamel engraved in quatrefoil pattern on the exterior.

Falangcai bowl with flowers on a diaper ground
This fine white porcelain bowl is decorated outside with a very rare design to show sprays of convolvulus on a diaper ground of blue enamel, with a reserved quatrefoil pattern and inside with a peony and a rose. The four-character blue enamel Qianlong mark on the base is another indication that this high-quality bowl was painted within the palace rather than at Jingdezhen where, at that time, such marks were not used.
