Longquan-type ware porcelain vase of squared hu form. Two applied handles at sides of neck. Very pale grey body covered with thick grey-green glaze which pales almost to white on the angles. Rim of foot unglazed and turned brownish in firing.

Vase with celadon glaze
This four sided vase, modelled on a bronze form was made for the domestic Chinese market in the late Ming dynasty. Chinese people traditionally liked green glazes as it evokes the colour of jade.
