Bowl with dragons
Potters decorated this bowl by pressing it over a mould. Inside in the walls is a design of dragons among clouds and there is an incised dragon inside in the centre. It was made in the early sixteenth century at a time when the Jingdezhen kilns were increasing the scale of their ceramic production and achieving a high-volume of output lead to a decline in standards of quality.
