Incense burner with Arabic inscription
This incense burner is decorated with three round medallions with relief Arabic inscriptions. It was probably made for a sinicised Muslim in China rather than for export. The roundels read: There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the prophet of God. Some incense burners of this type are further decorated with lacquer, cold painted pigments and gilding around the inscription.
