Reason for treatment
Improve old repair.
Old repair across neck overpainted and in poor visual condition. The vase is in otherwise good and stable condition.
The previous repair was reversed using 1:1 Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol, methanol), deionized water, applied on cotton wool. The excess adhesive was then further cleaned using a scalpel with a #15 blade under magnification. The break edges were re-adhered using Fynebond epoxy. A color fill was created using Fynebond epoxy, bulked with Cab-o-sil (fumed silica) and toned with dry pigments. Fill was sanded smooth using Micromesh abrasive cloths.
