Room 95 label text: PDF 282 Cosmetics or seal paste box This small round box with a flat cover is carved with a morning glory flower. Potters first incised the bloom with six petals and then added combed details. This combing is a feature of tenth century ceramics and the shape is reminiscent of early Northern Song or even Tang silver boxes. Stoneware, porcelain-type, with carved and incised decoration and celadon glaze Longquan ware 龍泉窯 Longquan region, Zhejiang province 浙江省, 龍泉地區 Northern Song dynasty or Five dynasties, about AD 907–1000
