    Part of a bowl with inscription

    This sherd from the lower part of a Yue stoneware bowl has a very rare date inscription incised into the grey clay body before glazing. It reads 太平戊寅 (Taiping wuyin ‘ AD 978’). It was fired on a setter on its base. Five spur marks are visible.
