Bottle with yellow glaze
This bottle has a garlic-shaped mouth and is covered with a monochrome yellow glaze. Potters fired the jar twice, first at a porcelain temperature of around 1280 to1320 °C to fix the underglaze blue mark and transparent glaze and then in a second, lower-temperature firing to vitrify the lead-fluxed, iron-pigmented glaze. The base has an apocryphal six-character underglaze blue reign mark of the Jiajing period (AD 1522–66).
