There are three five-clawed dragons among clouds incised on the interior, with two dragons on the exterior above a black painted lotus panel. There is a mark in blue on the base.

Saucer-dish with blue glaze
This saucer-dish is incised with a design of three five-clawed dragons among clouds inside, with with two dragons outside above a black painted lotus panel. It is covered with a high-fired monochrome blue glaze. The base carries an underglaze blue six-character Jiajing reign mark.

Clean cracks and fill chip.
Two dirty cracks running down into the centre of the plate. One large chip located on the rim with an old plaster fill.
Softened plaster fill removed mechanically with scalpel blade.Missing area filled with Fynebond, microballoons and pigments. Cut back with a scalpel blade and sanded smooth with various grades of abrasive paper. Inpainted using Golden Acrylics.
