Porcelain globular jar. The jar is made of 'soft paste' porcelain (hua shi). There is a phoenix flying over waves and amid small clouds in underglaze cobalt blue on the exterior. There is a mark on the base.

Phoenixes are painted on the jar flying over waves. The base has an apocryphal six-character underglaze blue Xuande reign mark.
