Porcelain globular jar with recessed base forming a foot ring. The jar is made of 'soft paste' porcelain (hua shi). There are two boys, one holding a tray of cakes over his head and the other a gourd flask, depicted in a landscape of pine trees, rocks and water in underglaze cobalt blue on the exterior. There is a mark on the base.

Blue-and-white globular jar with children playing
Chinese people regard genre scenes of children playing as auspicious, representing a wish for many sons. The base of this small globular jar has an apocryphal four-character underglaze blue Chenghua reign mark.
