Bowl with copper-red fish and cobalt-blue aquatic plants
Inside this bowl is painted with underglaze copper-red fish and with underglaze blue flowers and aquatic plants. The base has an apocryphal six-character underglaze blue Xuande reign mark. The rim is bound with copper. Chinese people regard paired fish as a rebus (visual pun) for abundance as the words for both fish 魚 and abundance 餘, are pronounced yu.
