Wucai bowl with ducks in a lotus pond
Potters decorated this bowl in a twice-fired technique called 五彩 (wucai ‘five colours’) composed of underglaze blue and overglaze red, yellow, and green. Inside it is painted with a dragon in underglaze blue. Outside are ducks on a lotus pond in underglaze blue and overglaze red, black and green enamels. The base carries an underglaze blue Jiajing reign mark.
