This square porcelain bowl has steep sides and flared mouth rim. Inside in the centre is a 壽 (shou ‘longevity’) character in a square panel. Outside are underglaze blue dragons among floral scrolls. There is a Jiajing reign mark in underglaze blue on the base. The iron-pigmented yellow colour has been added in a second lower-temperature firing surrounding the underglaze blue.
