Guan stoneware dish with shallow, sloping sides and everted, six-lobed rim, on a recessed base. The dish has a bluish-grey glaze with wide, brown-stained crackle. The dish has an inscription, and six spur marks on the base, which is glazed.

Guan ware dish with inscription
The inscription on base reads: 鐡足冰紋火氣蠲, 口分六出體規圓, 較於瓶斝猶 多見, 華者脆和樸者堅, 乾隆丙申夏御題 Tiezu bingwen huoqi juan, Koufen liu chu ti gui yuan, Jiao yu ping jia you duojian, Huazhe cui he puzhe jian. Qianlong bingshen xia yuti It has an iron foot, and crackled ice pattern from its high firing. Its rim is six-petalled like a flower, but its body is round. This form is not so rare as vases or cups. Objects of beauty are fragile, but those of simple strength endure. Composed by the Qianlong emperor in the Summer of the cyclical year bingshen [AD 1776]. A seal at end of inscription reads: 古香 guxiang ‘ancient fragrance’.

官釉刻乾隆御制詩盤
器底部刻詩文:“鐡足冰紋火氣蠲,口分六出體規圓。較於瓶斝猶多見,華者脆和樸者堅。乾隆丙申夏御題。”意為:此器經高溫燒造,器身開冰裂片紋,圈足呈鐵黑色。圓形器身,口沿呈六瓣形,如花朵一般。這種器形相較瓶及杯更為常見。華美者往往易碎,樸素者反而堅實。乾隆皇帝作于丙申年(1776年)夏日。詩尾附“古香”(古物之芬芳)印一方。
