Room 95 label text: PDF 51 ‘Soft’ Jun ware gourd-shaped vase Chinese people regard gourds as an auspicious emblem. Traditionally this type of ware is classified as ‘soft’ Jun. Scholars are unsure where ‘soft’ Jun was made, and so in the absence of a kiln site, they are dated stylistically by comparison to other pieces.
