        Lettered below the image, in English and Latin, with the title, continuing 'From the Painting of Titian, in the Borghese Palace at Rome..' and 'R. Strange Romae delint,, Ao. 1761. Atque Ao. 1769 Aere incidit Londini.'.
  • Curator's comments

    Drawing no. 117 in Strange's catalogue of his collection of paintings and drawings after paintings ('A Descriptive Catalogue of a Collection of Paintings... ', London, 1769) in which he offers the engraving at 10s.6d.
    It is a pendant to Le Blanc no. 3 (Joseph and Potiphar's Wife).
