Woman's kimono of dark violet warp-faced silk with restrained woven decoration. First one sees the moon shapes in-laid in silver-wrapped thread of two different tones. Then, on closer inspection, one can see magenta scroll shapes in weft-faced brocading, and also see that the moons are surrounded with a contrasting weave structure. Fully lined: top two-thirds, old hand-spun, natural coloured silk; lower third, light flesh-coloured silk. Some staining.
