Photobook. First edition.
- Published in: Tokyo-to
This is one of the icons of Japanese photography during the '60s. Up to this date every photo-book entitled 'Nippon' had shown the beauty of the countryside, the temples and the geishas, the development of the cities etc. The present work starts with the destruction wrought by a typhoon and the cleaning-up operation that follows. This is followed by images of debris on a beach, a ghost-town, and grotesque images of chindon advertisers. No copy in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/07)
