Bombers and rice-paddies, soldiers and locals, occupiers and the occupied. The subtitle of this book reads: “It is not that there is a military base in Okinawa, but rather, Okinawa is within the military base” (Okinawa ni kichi ga aru no dewa naku kichi no naka ni Okinawa ga aru). Tomatsu first visited Okinawa in 1968. This is a book of protest made for the protestors. It is beautifully printed by Tomatsu's own publishing firm. Only one copy in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/07)
