Photobook. First edition.
- Published in: Tokyo-to
A compilation of portraits taken by Takanashi between 1964 and 1989. The work is divided into four sections: The first is entitled 'otsukaresama' (a typically Japanese phrase used in the workplace to acknowledge someone's efforts) all dating from 1964 showing staged images of celebrities. The second part comes under the heading 'aruku hito' (a walking person) was taken between 1971 and '72. The third is entitled 'portraits' (menei) from the world of literature and the arts, followed by 'next, 1988'. There is something singularly fresh and unconventional about these portraits which had originally been commissioned for publications in various magazines. Only two copies in OCLC.
