  • Curator's comments

“The pictures contained in this book were taken during my six-month trip to Europe in 1954. They are pictorial impressions of a Japanese tourist making a whirlwind trip... If there are pictures in this book which suggest known compositions or approaches by European masters, it is an unwitting tribute to their impression their work made upon me.” Kimura travelled to Cairo, Athens, Paris, Germany, England, and Italy. He was certainly influenced by Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau. Only two copies in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/07)
