Kobayashi Nubuhiko based the title on a book by Terakado Seiken (1796-1868) who wrote 'Edo Hanjoki' in 1832. The book examines the impact of economic development on the physical makeup of Tokyo. It looks at traces of history amongst the new centres of commerce. Araki was well aware of the historical connotations of his enviroment and was thus ideally suited to provide the illustrations to this book. Only three copies in OCLC. (Titus Boeder, 4/07)
