Dismantle amd reconstruct.
Previously reconstructed with animal glue. Now unstable. Surface brown deposit which has a number etched into the deposit, 28.
Dismantled by placing cotton wool swabs moistened with warm tap water along the break edges. Edges cleaned using cotton wools and tap water followed by acetone. Reconstructed using Paraloid B72 (ethyl methacrylate copolymer) 40% in 50/50 acetone and Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol,methanol). Surface cleaned using cotton wool swabs moistened with 30/70 Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol,methanol) and distilled water. Avoiding the surface deposit which is soluble.
