Reason for treatment
Clean, dismantle, reconstruct, consolidate crack. After consultation, changed to clean, consolidate.
Surface dirt. Previously bonded handle section, a running crack to rim and a small missing area.
Surface cleaned with 50/50% Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol, methanol) and Acetone (propan-1-one/dimethyl ketone) applied on a cotton wool swab on a satay stick. Consolidated join and running crack with 10% Paraloid B72 (ethyl methacrylate copolymer) in acetone applied by micropipette. Repeated. Some silvering exists but seems stable.
