tea-cup / saucer
Teacup and saucer; porcelain; the exterior of cup has a deep lilac ground and two shaped medallions painted in colours; 1) a harbour scene with three figures in the foreground with ship moored nearby, 2) a similar scene without the ship; gilded round the edge and the foot-rim; inside a flower-spray and a very small flower; on the saucer a large circular medallion with scene of two men standing and one kneeling with harbour in the background; the rim is scattered with flowers; outside a dark lilac ground, gilding on edge and foot-rim; maker's marks.

Reason for treatment
Check condition and clean obejcts in room S4, cabinets 178 - 180
Stable, small amount of surface dirt.
Surface cleaned with warm distilled water applied with cotton wool. Residue removed with cotton wool and Kleenex tissue.
