Remove old glue and rivet.Dismantle,clean,restick,refill rivet holes.Repaint number on inside of footring.
Old resin yellowed. Rivet deteriorated. Broken edges dirty.
Old resin softened with acetone and Cleaned manually using a scalpel blade. Rivet removed manually with hacksaw blade. Dismantled in an atmosphere of acetone in a glass dessicator with tissue support. Cleaned by immersing in a solution of Ariel automatic (anionic and non ionic synthetic surfactants,sodium tripolyphosphate) and tap wate.Steam cleaned using distilled water; run off dirt and water absorbed into soft tissue paper. Reconstructed using CGWXW396 (epoxy) 100 parts to 32 parts CGWXW397 (epoxy). Joins supported with magic tape during curing. Missing areas filled with Ciba Geigy XW396 (epoxy) 100 parts to 32 parts Ciba Geigy XW397 (epoxy) mixed with Cab-o-sil (fumed silica) and Winsor and Newton fine dry artist's pigments (comp. variable). Cut back with a scalpel blade and sanded smooth with various grades of abrasive paper.
