Black ware (modern Song) meiping. Made of 'temmoku' (splashed), glazed stoneware.
- Found/Acquired: China
- Height: 31 centimetres
The iron-glazed 'meiping' has the shape and colouring of northern ware of the 12th century, but the lug handles, high shine and distribution of the splashes against a mottled background are all modern features.
