    Bell. A bronze bell with high, narrow body surmounted by a cup-like upper area above rounded shoulders. The whole is decorated with vertical rows of rectangles containing conjoined double spirals, each spiral with a central 'eye motif'. At the mouth of the bell are three denticulate rows above a plain band.

    For comparable pieces in what is described as the Dong Son style, see: 1. 'Reves de Collection, Jean Paul Barbier Mueller, sept millenaires de sculptures inedites', 2003, no. 27 (a reference taken from the sale catalogue listed below) 2. 'Buddhists, Hindus and Jains, In Search of Perfect Beauty', Marcel Nies Oriental Art, Lange Gasthuisstraat 28, 2000 Anterpen, Belgium (Auction Sale held in late November, 2003; with an opening reception held on Friday 28th Nov.), p. 4 ff. Its current whereabouts are unknown. The height of the Antwerp bell is 54 cm. It is practically identical to the Klang example which is 56.5 cm tall.
