Reason for treatment
Clean to improve appearance.
Dull, dusty and of a rather black appearance.
Thoroughly steam cleaned removing what appeared to be pigmented polish---boot polish. This revealed a coloured patina and a red pigmented area where the hands were folded in the lap. Dried with soft paper tissues and lightly brushed with'Renaissance'microcrystalline wax to improve appearance and enhance the details.
