Reason for treatment
Clean to improve appearance, bringing out the gold surface. .
Surface dirty and dull, due to oxidation of the underlying copper alloy.
Surface cleaned with swabs of 15% formic acid solution, followed by swabs of 5% Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid pentasodium salt, TritonX100, distilled water. Rinsed with swabs of distilled water and left to air dry.
