Reason for treatment
Clean to improve appearance, brightening the gold surface. .
Surface dirty, gold layer slightly tarnished and dull.
Surface cleaned with swabs of 15% formic acid solution, followed by swabs of 5% Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid pentasodium salt, TritonX100, in distilled water. The surface was then rinsed with swabs of distilled water and left to air dry.
