- Curator's comments
- One of two known impressions. The other is in the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.
See 'The Boy Friend', 1955-56 (2002-9-29-71) for a related etching, aquatint, engraving and drypoint. According to James Mollison, the figure is one of the Windmill dancers who regularly appeared in stage acts at the Windmill and other music hall venues in central London.
