Use the Museum’s collection to inspire
art and design. Students spend time in the galleries and make and
create art that they can take away at the end of the session.

(Nursery and Foundation Stage)

This session introduces young children
to the cultural diversity to be found at the British Museum and
helps develop confidence in using ICT. First students explore some
galleries talking about the different clothes they see and taking
photographs using digital cameras.
After a break they try some art using
the interactive whiteboard.

African Tales in the Paul Hamlyn
Library

This story and activity session takes
place in the Paul Hamlyn Library. After sharing an African story
students take part in hands-on work and discussion and find out
more about the library itself. They then visit the Sainsbury
African Galleries to look at beautiful objects from across the
African continent.
Maximum group:
30
Duration: 60 minutes in Library, followed by lunch
break and a self-guided visit to the African Galleries
£10 per group (including a free small copy of the
book read during the session)

beadwork from the Museum’s handling collection, students explore
shapes, patterns and counting in this lively interactive
session.
