Gallery focus: celebrating China
(Key Stage 2)

From dragons and dogs to scrolls and statues, students will be led through a celebration of Chinese culture, both ancient and modern.

Chinese tombs: preparing for the afterlife
(Key Stage 2)

10.30 and 12.00 on the following dates:
19, 29 January 2009

23, 24 April 2009
26 June 2009
13 July 2009

In the first part of this session students use one of the Museum’s award-winning websites to investigate an ancient Chinese tomb. Using specially prepared activity sheets, they then continue by exploring artefacts in the gallery.

China in action
(Key Stage 3)

10.30–14.30 or by arrangement

A multi-activity day incorporating Tai Chi, pop music, poetry, calligraphy and more to showcase contemporary China and link its present with its past. Teachers accompanying students will be expected to help run some of the sessions – we will provide all materials and explain the sessions in advance.
