For Key Stages 3–5

This programme is designed to support Classical Civilisation students to understand the cultural and historic context of Greek and Roman objects.

There are 6 themes available, focusing on objects from the Museum’s collection and covering topics within the curriculum for Classical Civilisations at GCSE and A level.

Themes

• Art and architecture: the Parthenon
• Art and architecture: ancient Greek pottery
• City life in Rome
• Roman Britain
• The ancient Olympic Games
• Mycenaean Greece

We offer 30 minute spotlight talks on objects from the collection based on each theme. Sessions take place in the Museum galleries and are limited to no more than 20 students per group.

A minimum of 6 weeks’ notice is essential when booking. These sessions are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
