Getting to know the objects
Students discussed what 'culture' means to
them. They reflected on their own cultural background and
celebrated the cultural diversity within the class. This led them
to consider how everybody is unique and has something to offer the
world.
The students looked at the British Museum website. They
identified that in the British Museum you can
find objects from all over the world. They also
used the website to get an idea of what the Museum would be
like and discussed any previous experiences of visiting a museum.
They thought about the word 'artefact' and other museum
vocabulary.
This preparation work was cross curricular and involved
Geography, History and SEAL (social and emotional aspects of
learning).
What will the British Museum be like?

I feel excited and curious about what we'll find out.
